Your whole body was stiff as you woke up, trying to move but a weight holding you down. You slowly opened your eyes, adjusting to the light before seeing Nick asleep on top of you.
That same smile made it's way back to your face as your hands ran through his hair again. He hummed contently as he shuffled, waking up.
"Good morning," he spoke raspy as he stretched.
"Good morning for you, not me. You've left me all stiff," you say while stretching.
"Sorry love, would you like a massage," he smirked and you chucked a pillow at him for his double meaning.
"No thank you," you reply and he comes forward and kisses you.
"So last night," he starts and you groan.
"First thing in the morning, of course," you say, dreading the topic.
"We have to talk about it love," he said, facing you as he sat in front placing his arms around your shoulders.
"I need to show you something," you say as you pick up your phone. Nick looked a bit perplexed as to what until you showed the chat with the unknown number.
His gaze hardened as he took the phone from you, and clicked the picture showing you, Jenna and Noah at the fight. The picture was taken behind some sort of fence or guarded opening. He swiped the picture down before reading Noah's name.
"Is this why you disappeared," he asked with a stern look.
You nodded as he dropped your phone on the bed and ran his hand down the side of his face.
"Jay, why would you go alone like that? Are you stupid or crazy?" You glared at him, not liking him calling you stupid.
"Did you not read Noah's name? I had to check the area out for Noah and your safety! We know Ronnie's planning something and it involves us three," you argue.
His eyes softened as he looked up from the phone to you and held your face so delicately in his hands.
"You don't have to worry about me, yeah? I wouldn't be able to live with myself or cope if something happened to you because of me," he explained with worry.
"I do have to worry about you, I care for you so much. I wouldn't be able to handle myself without you, I wouldn't be able to live with myself either. You know that Jenna, Noah, Lion and Landon are my only family. I know Jenna told you about me and my past," you say, your eyes dropping to your hands.
"What about me? Am I not your family," he asked with his head tilted and a playful smile as you rolled your eyes.
"Do you wanna be my brother," you retort as he laughs, shaking his head.
"I can be your husband," he said and you could hear the hint of seriousness in his voice.
"Damn, thinking about marriage already? You're 23 and I'm 21."
He pulled you closer, wrapping his arms around your waist before whispering, "I'll marry at any time as long as I'm marrying you."
You smile, feeling warm inside before throwing your arms around his shoulders in a hug.
You both pulled away due to a knock at the door as Nick yelled for the person to come in.
Noah came in, with a smile seeing you sitting close together.
"Sorry to ruin your moment but breakfast is ready," she informed before walking back out.
"Shall we go," he asked.
"Yes, but there is one thing I need to do first," you say, getting up from the bed right after him.
"And what is that?" He looks down at you.
You pull his chain lightly down, causing him to bend down as you kiss him. His hand found it's way to your lower back, pressing you against him while the other came down to your under-thigh, lifting it.
You pull away before it's gets too heated, resting your forehead against his and smile saying, "Happy Birthday Nick."
He grew a bigger smile before kissing you again quickly.
"Thank you love, how'd you know," he asked surprised.
"I have my ways," you smirked as you both head down.
You greet the parents, who tease you for being in his clothing, a blush covering your face. Nick has a huge smile that he can't hold back from.
"One birthday breakfast for the birthday boy and his lovely girlfriend," William spoke as he set our plates in front of us.
Nick smiled over the memories as he got his traditional birthday breakfast before he turned to look at you. You were zoned out for a moment, he could see you were lost in thought and was about to place his hand on your thigh to snap you out of it but you snapped out of it and thanked William for breakfast.
You met Nick's eyes who looked a bit concerned and you mouthed that you were okay with a small forced smile.
You had zoned out due to the thoughts of what having a family felt like, during special moments and occasions like your birthday.
Soon William broke the silence with Nick as he finished his food, you had finished before since he ate more than you and were outside with Noah.
"I was thinking, how about you get away to Ibiza with your friends? Over the weekend?" Nick nodded, before thanking him and going to change into swimming trunks.
He spotted you sitting with Noah, you both had your feet in the water and sat on the ledge, chatting.
He jumped in, close to you both creating a huge splash that went over the both of you.
"Nick!" Noah yelled as she got up.
"You piece of-," you started before he cut you off.
"Hey! Hey, it's my birthday. You have to be nice to me." He smirked while swimming closer to you.
"Landon's calling me, see you guys later," Noah said before answering her phone and running inside.
With that distraction, Nick pulled you into the water. You swam up, splashing him for pulling you in.
"So, can you guess what I want for my birthday," he asked, moving closer to you.
"Better taste in music," you smirk as he laughs.
"Ouu, you love my music," he replied as you played up saying you didn't.
"Hair dye to freshen up that look," you tease as he shakes his wet hair on you.
Feeling a bit bold, you move closer to him, lips inches away as you whisper, "How about a mint for your breath?"
He chuckles lowly, keeping close to you. "I've just brushed my teeth."
You find yourself floating back as he moves closer to you, until he has you trapped against the ledge of the pool. His hands make their way to the ledge, keeping you caged in his hold.
You felt nervous and goosebumps as he leaned in close, keeping his eyes on yours before they fell to your lips. He let one hand fall back in the water, finding it's way to your leg. He ran his fingers along the top of your thigh before going under and lifting it to be wrapped around his waist.
You were in a daze in this position, not hearing what he said until he leaned his head on the side of yours whispering, "Can you keep your emotions in check?"
You snapped back into reality, a slow smirk forming on your face.
"I can, but can you?" You say as your lips brush his ear, and you feel the goosebumps rise on him as your hand trails from the back of his neck, over his broad shoulders, tracing down his chest to his abs.
You hear him suck in a breath, your hand teasing the waistband of his pants, making you smirk and say quietly, "Oh dear, falling before the first hurdle."
However, your lips pull into a thin line quickly, refusing to let any noise or reaction out to his hand travelling up your thigh to your waist, fingertips brushing the top of your bikini bottoms. His response to your teasing.
With that, you push your hand under just the waistband of his shorts, feeling his V-line. You feel his jaw tighten as his head is pressed against yours making you smile.
"Jay! Nick!" You both quickly pull apart.
"I'm off now. Enjoy the surprise, Nick. Jay, take it easy on him." Noah's mom smiled warmly as she saw us in the pool before turning around and leaving us.
You could see the smirk Nick was hiding as he kept underwater just until his nose and you shook your head at him with a small smile.
As soon as she was out of view, Nick swam forward, quickly closing the gap.
You turned him around so he would be against the ledge, your hand travelling up his abs to his chest, before resting on the side of his neck.
You leaned in, your lips brushing against his as his gaze dropped, heavily focused on your lips. As soon as you see him lean in to close the gap, you pull away with a teasing smirk and get out of the pool.
"We're gonna be late birthday boy, come on," you call over your shoulder as his head tilted skywards. A small smile crept up on his face, knowing you just played him at his own game.
