Morning - The Announcement
Kalpana: "Mom, I have to go for a job interview today!"
Kayal: Excitedly. "I'm so happy for you, dear! You're the first one-"
RING! RING!
Before she could finish, Soniya called her.
Kalpana rolled her eyes.
"Of course. The interruption queen strikes again!"
She clenched her fists. Soniya was always coming between her and her mother.
And because of Soniya's family... Kalpana had been sent to a different city.
Shaking her head, she grabbed her bag and left for the interview, determined not to let anything ruin her day.
---
On the Way -
As she walked toward the company, a familiar voice stopped her.
Kamal (Soniya's brother): "Hi, Kalpana!"
Kalpana ignored him and kept walking.
Kamal (annoyed): "Oi! Why do you always ignore me?"
She kept her silence, picking up her pace.
Suddenly, he grabbed her hand.
Kalpana's blood boiled.
Kalpana (angry): "Leave me!"
Kamal smirked and tightened his grip.
Kamal: "Why should I?"
Before Kalpana could react-
A stranger stepped in between them.
A tall man with sharp eyes. Without a word, he pulled Kamal's hand away and gave him a silent warning glance.
Kamal hesitated but backed off.
The stranger simply nodded at Kalpana and walked away.
Kalpana stood frozen. Who was that?
---
Kamal dusted off his jacket and grinned.
Kamal: "Who was that? Your boyfriend?"
Kalpana crossed her arms.
Kalpana: "Even if he is, what's it to you?"
Kamal chuckled.
Kamal: "What am I going to do? Oh, nothing... except-" leans closer "Today, you're coming for MY job interview only."
Kalpana's eyes widened.
Kalpana: "What?!"
Before Kamal could say more, a car window rolled down nearby.
Someone had been watching the whole scene.
Shiva.
His cold eyes locked onto Kamal.
Kalpana followed his gaze, her heartbeat quickening.
She didn't know who Shiva was yet.
But he knew exactly who she was.
Kalpana yanked her hand away from Kamal.
Kalpana: "Then I'm NOT coming for that interview!"
She turned and stormed off.
Kamal (calling after her): "Where can you go, Kalpana? You'll be mine anyway!"
Shiva's grip tightened on the steering wheel.
"Interesting," he thought, watching Kalpana disappear into the distance. _______
A Lonely Night at the Park
The cold night air brushed against Kalpana's tear-streaked face as she sat on a quiet bench in the park.
This was her place.
Her little escape from a world that never seemed to choose her.
She hugged her knees, staring at the distant city lights.
Kalpana (whispering to herself): "Why does Soniya always take the things I love the most?"
Her chest tightened at the memories.
Ever since childhood, Soniya had been taking everything-even her mother's attention.
---
Flashback - The Chain Incident
Kalpana was just seven years old.
Her small hands clutched a delicate silver chain-her most precious possession.
A gift from her mother when she was five.
It was the only thing that made her feel special.
But then, Soniya saw it.
Soniya (smiling): "I want that chain!"
Kalpana tightened her grip. "No! Mom gave it to me!"
Soniya pouted and ran to Kayal.
Soniya: "Aunty! I want that chain! It's so pretty!"
Kayal looked at them both.
Then, in the gentlest voice, she said-
"Kalpana, dear... let Soniya have it. I'll buy you a new one."
Kalpana's tiny fingers trembled.
A new one?
Didn't Mom understand?
This wasn't just a chain-it was hers.
Tears welled up in her big, innocent eyes.
But she was just a child.
She couldn't say no to her mother.
So, with shaking hands, she took off the chain... and gave it to Soniya.
Her heart broke a little that day.

Back to the Present - The Pain Still Lingers
Kalpana sobbed into her palms, that same pain still fresh even after all these years.
"She took my chain." "She took my moments with Mom." "She took my home."
And now...
Was she going to take everything again?
Kalpana didn't realize someone was watching her from the shadows.
A pair of sharp, unreadable eyes.
Shiva.
His arms were crossed as he leaned against a tree, silently observing the girl who had once been a mystery to him.
Now... she was a puzzle he wanted to solve.
