The Battle for the Last Cake Piece
Supriya: "You arrogant doctor! That cake is MINE!"
Kevin: "Excuse me? I saved a LIFE today. I deserve it!"
Supriya: "And I survived the shock of finding out I'm marrying YOU. I deserve it MORE!"
Kevin: "That's not an achievement, dear fiancée. That's just fate."
Supriya growled and lunged for the cake. Kevin blocked her hand.
They glared at each other, neither backing down.
Meanwhile-
Shiva, Ravi, and Arjun sat on the sofa, watching like it was a cricket match.
Shiva: "Should we... stop them?"
Ravi: "Why? This is free entertainment."
Arjun: "I'm betting on Supriya. She's more dangerous when food is involved."
Then-
Ding-dong!
The door opened. Kevin's parents, Soniya and Yash, walked in, expecting a formal discussion about the wedding.
Instead-
They saw their son, a top surgeon, a respected cardiologist, and a man people literally begged to work with-
Fighting for a piece of cake like a five-year-old.
Soniya: "...What are we looking at?"
Yash: "Our son's downfall."
At that moment-
Supriya snatched the cake piece and stuffed it into her mouth.
Kevin gasped. "YOU-! THAT WAS MINE!"
Supriya, mouth full: "Teww bad, doctoww."
Kevin dramatically clutched his chest. "Betrayed by my own fiancée! I need a heart transplant!"
Silence.
Then-
Arjun burst out laughing.
Ravi clapped. "Well played, sister. Well played."
Shiva shook his head. "Dear Lord, these two are getting married?"
Soniya and Yash just stared in horror.
Kevin dusted himself off. "Fine. I'll let you win this time. But the next battle? I won't hold back."
Supriya smirked. "Bring it on, doctor."
And just like that-
The most chaotic wedding preparations had officially begun.
_______ After few days:
Wedding Shopping: Chaos & Realizations
Supriya never thought she would enjoy wedding shopping.
But here she was-dragged into a luxurious boutique with Kevin by her side, bickering over outfits like an old married couple.
Kevin: "This one looks nice." (Holds up a simple pastel saree)
Supriya: "Are you choosing for me or your grandmother?"
Kevin: "Excuse me, I have great taste!"
Supriya: "Says the man wearing a shirt that looks like a hospital curtain."
Kevin rolled his eyes. "Fine. You choose."
Supriya smirked in victory and turned to the collection of bridal sarees. As she ran her fingers over the delicate fabrics, a sudden memory hit her-
Her past life.
A different boutique. A different time.
She was alone, picking out her wedding saree.
Mahesh never came.
He never cared.
She remembered standing in front of the mirror, holding up a saree, whispering to herself-
"It's okay. He's busy. He loves me. That's all that matters."
But now, looking at Kevin-
Arguing with the shopkeeper because he thought her lehenga should have better embroidery, debating between colors, and demanding matching accessories-
She realized something.
She wasn't alone this time.
She looked at him, mid-argument, waving a dupatta around dramatically.
She let out a small laugh.
Kevin turned. "What? You're laughing at me?"
Supriya smiled, shaking her head. "No... I'm just happy."
Kevin blinked. "Because of me?" (Smug smile forming)
Supriya poked his forehead. "Don't get too confident, doctor."
Kevin smirked. "Too late. Now, let's find shoes. We need matching ones."
Supriya groaned. "You're worse than me!"
And just like that-
She let go of the past and embraced the present.
This time, she wasn't marrying someone who didn't care.
This time, she had Kevin.
And Kevin cared... a lot.
