Chapter XI - The Massacre
Exhausted, Electro Von Poison was still battling the combative men. He had defeated five of them but more surrounded him. In need of desperate help, Electro coughed and wished he had never attempted such a momentous challenge. Fists slammed against Electro's stomach and face until he lay a heap on the floor.
Down the hallway, there was a peculiar smell of burning. It loitered in the air, travelling into different rooms of the mansion. Examining the situation was Lord Horror Hill. It looked like it was coming from the library. Rushing towards the library, he cried in frustration! A blazing fire illuminated the room.
Panic-stricken, Lord Horror Hill realised that he had told the rest of the Horror Hillians to hide in there. He hectically hurried to the kitchen to get water to put it out. Chucking buckets of water onto the blaze, Lord Horror Hill expected to uncover the remains of his cherished Horror Hillians. The heat scolded his face as he continued to lob buckets of water on the terrible act of arson. Lord Horror Hill had managed to put the fire out and was aware of any other damage that could have been going on in the house. Knowing it was the intruders, Lord Horror Hill precipitously headed towards the rest of the pyromaniacs. He grabbed his shotgun from his office and began to chase the men down the corridor.
Lord Horror Hill turned a corner down towards the main entrance to see Electro battered and bruised in a pile of pain. Surrounding him were many intruders who were beating and kicking him.
"Help!" Electro insisted, his voice a crackly wreck, as he saw Lord Horror Hill rush by.
Bang! The shotgun pellet impaled the first victim, and he fell to the floor. Bang! The next wounded victim staggered towards the Lord until he stumbled and collided with the tiled floor. Blood trickled from his head. Screaming in anger, Lord Horror Hill shot the third and last man surrounding Electro. Promptly hoisting Electro up, Lord Horror Hill took out a pistol from his blazer and handed it to Electro. The astonished Electro thanked Lord Horror Hill and, with less enthusiasm than before, jogged down the corridor to his next victim. Appreciative of what the Lord had done to save him, Electro's eyes fixated on what he had been given. Hurtling down the corridor, they began to find the others.
Bodies littered the floor; footprints were imprinted in blood. Corpses rested in the corner of rooms with blood smeared up walls. Shotgun pellets cluttered the floor. The noise of excessive thuds hammering on doors continued, but Lord Horror Hill knew that only a few intruders remained.
Conscientiously placing his foot down on the ground, Dr Lazer was now outside at the bottom of the house with Sir Hollow Eyes and Viscount Phantom. Looking up at how far they had climbed down the side of the house, they could just about make out two men climbing down after them. Viscount Phantom was sceptical if the men would get to them before they fled, but he had a different plan. Discussing the plan, the three Horror Hillians got to work. Sprinting to the garage, Sir Hollow Eyes grabbed a petrol canister, and Dr Lazer grabbed a box of matches from inside Lord Horror Hill's Rolls Royce.
"Quick, hurry! Those gents art nearly at the bottom," Viscount Phantom called to the others.
Sir Hollow Eyes and Dr Lazer careered past trees and divots in the grass to finally arrive next to Viscount Phantom. They swiftly poured the petrol onto the ground below the intruders and watched as the men jumped to attack them. They slipped and smacked the concrete. Without hesitation, Dr Lazer ignited the match and threw it onto the men and the petrol. They burst into flames flailing themselves about until they were a blazing heap on the floor. All that remained of the intruders were their melting bodies in the flickering flames.
Soon after, Lord Horror Hill and Electro arrived, wounded and vulnerable. They were relieved that the three Horror Hillians had survived the unanticipated ordeal. Repulsed at the stench of burning bodies, Lord Horror Hill put out the fire.
Horror Hill had returned to its once cheerful atmosphere before the passing of Butler Burns... but if only it would stay like that forever. The Horror Hillians were laughing in relief and discussing their bold achievements with one another before Lord Horror Hill proudly stated.
"Now, young Horror Hillians, you have proved to me that you can defend our territory very well. You're only going to face several more challenges from here on, so brace yourselves because things are only going to get a lot worse!"
