Chapter XIII - Suspicion and Solemnity

The four Horror Hillians strolled solemnly across the uneven ground as Lord Horror Hill's suit flapped with the eastward winds. The Lord stared at his surroundings, recalculating the number of times he had taken the route to the graveyard. Trailing behind Lord Horror Hill was Viscount Phantom, his fingers perched on his pointed chin, eyes engrossed in contemplation, somewhat dazed. The Viscount's pallid face was narrow, as thin as a sharpened blade, and his pasty skin stretched over his defined cheekbones.

"Whatever is the matter, young Viscount Phantom," Electro Von Poison stared at his face, perplexed, followed by an exaggerated turn of the head. Electro slowly nodded realising the problem; his face sunk, though of flicker of a smile remained, as he narrowed his eyes down to the coffin that lay in the hands of Dr Lazer and the rest of the group. Dr Lazer had a secure friendship with Butler Burns, and it had shocked him to see the Butler not talking nor moving. It had only hit him after the initial death had occurred. Dr Lazer missed his elderly face and short white beard.

The Butler's dad, Charles Burns, who had also died recently but was not a member of the manor, had owned an organisation called Cobra down the road from Horror Hill and had sent the Butler to Horror Hill in order to prevent his involvement with his important work. Robert Burns, Butler Burns' uncle, had lately taken over the establishment after Charles' death. Their aim - 'to preserve history and ensure that all precious artefacts and relics are kept safe in one museum-like facility where they would be cared for collectively' - wasn't what it seemed... This intention was masked by their villainous plan to steal these artefacts and sell them, making them lots of money.

Upon sending his son to Horror Hill, Charles had expected him to be in good hands and away from the organisation's shady business. However, after Charles had died, the new owner of Cobra - Robert Burns - had sent some employees to recall Butler Burns for the funeral. That was all put to a stop when Horror Hill had no Butler Burns to send with them... for he was dead!

During this time of unease, the Viscount theorised there was a feud brewing.

Butler Burns had been there from the very start and was a key member of Horror Hill. Since the death of him, the Horror Hillians were having a tough time and Horror Hill had lost fragment of their community.

Viscount Phantom, who in the past was good friends with Electro, hadn't been bonding together with him as much because, in his opinion, he had been acting weird lately. Recently, something was on Electro's mind, something that had been troubling him. Lost in the thought, he continued walking, but suspicion still shrouded the Viscount like a blanket of fog.
