Y'all, bear with me with these updates. I know they're slow but I've only been able to write at work lol The wifi at my house is like in and out so I don't even bother writing there, so I'm stuck trying to write at work.

"It's so nice to see you finally came to your senses and realized that your family is only here to make you a better person, even though it took you five days of convincing to do so."
My Dad, Matthew, smiled as he watched Marquis carry me up the steps of the basement. Matthew didn't even bother helping Marquis take me up the steps, he just let Marquis struggle on his own while he stood at the top of the steps picking at his teeth with an old tooth pick. I rolled my eyes. If I had the strength, I'd jam that tooth pick right in his eyes but I just took a deep breath, deciding not to do so, since I knew his time was coming tonight. I'll get my revenge.
"You know how stubborn she can be Pops," Marquis added, just playing along with the facade
If it was up to me, I wouldn't even have Marquis apart of this plan. I know he won't go behind my back and do anything crazy tonight but once we get into business together, I don't need him trying to sneak me or do things behind my back. I really don't trust him, but aside from Matthew, he's the only other person that knows the ins and outs of the business. But I'm a fast learner. So, I'll keep him on board until I know everything about the business and then eventually get rid of him because with his temper, aggressiveness, and sneakiness, he's too much of a risk to have on my team.
But for now, he's my only ticket out of the basement. Precious is too afraid to help me out and I know Imani won't do anything for me, but Marquis will. I knew I had Marquis the moment he saw me with my pants down, but I had to keep the sob story going if I wanted him to believe he was truly on my team. So I cried and cried and came up with this plan, which was convincing enough for him to help me from the basement.
But there were other ears in the basement. I don't know if Banga was passed out or sleep, but he won't be awake for long. Well, long enough to start telling our plan. Before we even have this family dinner tonight, I plan on getting rid of Banga since he's been causing me so much strife in my life. He's my number one priority, mainly because of what he might have heard in the basement. I should just let him rot down there for the rest of his life, but it'll be just my luck that he gets to Matthew before Marquis and I get a chance to execute our plan. So since he's so much of a liability, he has to go immediately.
As soon as we get rid of our parents and Imani, my first order of business will be to make amends with Prince's family. I'm sure they don't want anything to do with us after that dinner five nights ago but we can't go around with all of these enemies, especially now that we truly have no head of the business. We're in a vulnerable place right now and need as many allies as we can get. Plus, I don't think it would be a bad decision for Marquis to apologize to Prince for disrespecting him, his daughter and his home.
"But she needs to stop letting her stubbornness get in the way of what's really important and that's getting to this money," Matthew continued talking about me as if I wasn't in the room.
"You're absolutely right," I agreed with him, just to feed his ego since he likes people to do that. It makes him feel superior and in control. Marquis placed me in one of the seats in Matthew's office, and immediately, the maid rushed over to me with an ice pack and a cloth to clean me up. "So, how do I join the business?"
Matthew chuckled. "After what you put this family through, you thought it was just gonna be that easy?"
Yes, I wanted to respond but I shook my head as I took the ice pack from the maid and placed it over my swollen left eye. "No, of course not. What do you want me to do so that I can join the business?"
"What do you think?" Marquis snickered from the other side of the room, making me voluntarily roll my eyes. I needed to at least pretend to be upset with his blabbering, if I wanted Matthew to believe this.
"Initiation?" I asked, confused.
"She's finally using her brain, I see," Marquis shook his head.
"I see her brain didn't get too jumbled up downstairs, thankfully," Matthew sighed. "But, yes, initiation. Lucile, give us a moment. I'll call you back in shortly but go busy yourself with something else. Mya is fine."
Lucile, the maid, stood up from tending to my wound, and faced Matthew. "Are you sure, sir?"
"Bitch, did I stutter? I said to leave!" Matthew exclaimed, scaring me. Lucile hurried out of Matthew's office, tightly closing the door behind herself. Matthew shook his head as he plopped down in the seat behind his desk. "Damn. You just can't get good help these days. But you know what I need you to do Goldie. You need to do this for your family."
I bit down on my bottom lip, nervous. I knew what he wanted me to do. He wanted me to do something to Prince and his family but I just can't. He opened up his home to me when I needed him the most; when my family didn't want to help me. He gave me a job, moved me in with his daughter and got me accustomed to his lifestyle. He showed me every single aspect of his business, that I could honestly use to destroy him and his family, but I just can't bring myself to do anything to him since the only reason he was fighting with Marquis was to defend himself and his family. Prince isn't like my Dad, my brother, or his Grandpa. He has his bad moments but that doesn't make him a bad person. He was born into this lifestyle, just like I was, but our involvements in the business are just different. But this isn't us.
"Prince is a good guy though Daddy," I told him, about to feed him some more nonsense. "He won't hurt us, especially after what he showed me. If anything, he'll be kissing the ground we walk on because I could destroy his empire if I really wanted to."
Matthew folded his arms, looking as if he was actually intrigued by what I was saying. "How so Goldie? Are you talking about blackmailing him?"
I shrugged my shoulders. "I don't know, if it comes down to it, then we might have to. That idiot showed me where he keeps his products, where all of his money is and where his warehouse is. I guess he thought we were really going into business together, but I have something else planned for him. I'm talking about extorting money and products in exchange for our silence. We won't go to the police or rob him for everything he's got, in exchange, he needs to pay us off. I'm talking about millions per week in hush money," I smirked, since I knew that would make Matthew proud. He'll believe me and Marquis' scheme now that money is involved. "How does that sound?"
"Like a pretty good idea," Matthew chuckled. "You were really down there thinking, weren't you?"
I nodded my head. "Of course. I don't like you being upset with me Daddy so I knew I had to come to the table with something good to impress you."
He frowned. "You know I don't like doing that Goldie, especially to you. You're my youngest, you're the last person I wanted to hurt but it was for your own good, because look at you now. You're a totally different person, right?"
I nodded my head, even though I didn't want to. Being locked up in that basement only made me want revenge, not on Prince, but on my own family. But maybe that's what Matthew wanted me to learn from being down there. Maybe he wanted to toughen me up, which worked, just not in his favor. "You're exactly right. I understand why you put me down there and I thank you for doing it. It opened up my eyes to what I was being blind to. So, in honor of me heading in the right direction, I want to have dinner tonight. You know, me, you, Marquis, the entire family."
Matthew sighed. "I don't know about that Goldie. I might have some business to handle tonight. I gotta talk to a guy that'll be able to get me Club Reign. If I'm lucky, I'll be the owner of that tonight."
My heart skipped a beat when he said the name of Prince's club. That's the club I used to work at; the club Prince still owns so I knew he was about to do something cruel and underhanded to take that club away from him. So, I knew I had to make haste with this plan before he got a chance to steal Prince's club. "Please Daddy? You know you can't conduct business on an empty stomach. Dinner will be quick, I promise."
Matthew sighed. "Alright, only an hour. And I'm only doing this because I can see the change in you Goldie. Don't let me down."
I smirked. "I promise I won't."
Lindsey
It felt good sending Aubrey that text about his mistress, that's been parading all over the city with every man in my family. If I didn't stop her, her next victim would be my son and I can't let that happen. So, that's why I told Aubrey. I know he'll check her about sleeping around so much and hopefully, she'll get the hint to leave my family alone since she's not wanted. Maybe Aubrey can take her off of our hands. Or better yet, she'll just disappear in general and cease any communication she has with anybody in my family. That would be ideal.
Because once Jazmine is off of my radar, she'll make room for Milan. I didn't stick around to hear anymore of Mama and Theodore's conversation because I had heard enough already. I always assumed Milan was having an affair with some other man, I just didn't think it was my little brother and for so long. It disgusted me to know that she was pregnant with his child. I don't understand how he can be so careless when he already messed around and made Princess. Now, he's going to bring another baby into this world the exact same way. And to top it off, it's with Daddy's wife.
Part of me wanted to tell Daddy. I was on my way to tell him too, but I found out he wasn't at Theodore's house anymore. I guess Theodore lucked up then because his entire life was about to be flipped turned upside down. I mean, I could always text or call Daddy but I think news like that is best if it's in person, so I'll just wait to tell him in person. The worst part of it all is that Mama's covering it up, as if it's all right. I know her and Daddy haven't always had the best relationship but what Theodore and Milan are doing is wrong and shouldn't go on any longer than it already has.
"Don't tell me you're still mourning Polyester."
I looked up at Daniel, who was standing in my bedroom door.
"Well, for your information, I'm not," I replied.
I really felt no remorse once I found out what happened to Cashmere. We already had been broken up for about eight months, hadn't had any type of sexual encounters for over six months and I was still pissed about his past behavior. I always told him he'd get his karma for screwing over me for so many years, and I assumed I'd be that karma, but I'm lucky somebody got to him and finally put the both of us out of our misery. My relationship with Cashmere was long done months ago, that's why I wasn't held on to him or too upset when he died. Just like Andre, John and Jordan's death, it is what it is. They weren't good for me anyways.
"Good, so that means you can do something for me."
"What's up?"
"I know you're young and you eventually wanna get married one day, which means you'll have to get back out on the dating scene, but can you please let me approve of the guy before you get too far in a relationship with him? Because I'm getting older and wiser and I'm not going to be taking anything from these guys you're bringing around, especially not any over grown babies like Cashmere. If you bring another buster around, I'm just gonna tell you right now, he's gonna get Hell from me until he leaves you alone. And I'm serious. I'm tired of these guys you're bringing around."
I sighed. I hate that he has to see me go through so many guys, but I've never been successful when it comes to men and I don't understand why. I do everything a good woman is supposed to do. I cook, clean, go to work and take care of my child like I'm supposed to. I just don't understand what I'm doing wrong.
"I promise, I won't bring anybody like Cashmere around again. Shit, I don't even know if there's going to be a next time. I'm tired Daniel."
He walked into my room, sighing, before taking the spot beside me on my bed. "I know you're tired but I want you to be happy. I'm growing up and in four years, I'm gonna be going to college and you're gonna be alone. I just want you to be happy, regardless if I'm here or not but I don't want you rushing into anything or settling just because you're getting old. I mean, there's plenty of guys your age and older still trying to settle down."
I sighed. I hate getting advice from my 14 year old son, but he's exactly right. Rushing into something is part of the reason I was stuck with somebody like Cashmere, other than the fact that he was a rebound to Andre. I was trying to see past Cashmere's flaws, to make due of not having Andre in my life anymore, which was the reason I was in such a horrendous relationship with him in the first place. I can't let myself get vulnerable like that again, and that's why I haven't rushed into anything since we're been broken up. I'm trying to better myself, but I just can't seem to do that when there's so much going on around me.
Like Aubrey. How could he practically spend his teenage years begging to go out with me, and when I finally give him a chance, he stops responding to my messages and completely cuts me off for Jazmine, of all people. She's probably the lowest you can ever go, and he turned me down for her. I mean, I don't know what he sees in her because she doesn't have anything to offer except for spreading her legs to every man in my family.
"Yeah, you're right. I can promise you, I won't ever bring anyone like Cashmere around again."
"Alright, whatever you say but I still wanna meet any guy you bring."
I smacked my lips. "And what are you gonna say to them?"
"The exact same thing I said to Cashmere. You see how he disappeared as soon as I checked him. He was scared Mama."
I laughed as I wrapped my arm around him. "Alright, you keep scaring off all of these guys and I'll be alone."
"So?" he shrugged his shoulders just as the doorbell rang. "Maybe that's for the best. But I'll get the door, I'll be back."
Before I could even respond to him, he tore away from my embrace and raced down to get the door but I was following behind him. By the time I got to the top of the steps, he was standing in the doorway talking to somebody but he didn't sound upset, like I assumed he'd be. I walked the rest of the way down the steps and got a little nervous when I saw Aubrey standing in my door way drenched from the pouring rain outside but he looked like he was pissed off. I don't know why though. It was about time somebody told him the truth about his little girlfriend.
"Daniel," I spoke up. "How about you go upstairs for awhile while Aubrey and I talk?"
"Yeah, I think that's best," Aubrey agreed as he still stood outside in the rain.
Daniel sighed. "Alright, but you still gotta take me out to drive one of these days since Mama is too scared to teach me."
"Alright, I got you Daniel."
Aubrey gave him some dap before Daniel walked upstairs. I waited on Daniel to close his bedroom door, and as soon as he did, I approached Aubrey. "I was wondering when you'd show up," I smirked because I knew he was pissed. I reached down and grabbed his hand so I could pull him inside. "Stop standing in the rain and come inside."
Aubrey let me pull him into my house and that's when I noticed all of the water dripping off of his body. He didn't even say anything though. Water dripped off of his clothes and body as he starred at me with anger written all over his face. "You know, you got a lot of nerve trying to text me about Jazmine. I mean, if you knew all of this, why would you sit around and hold it in for so long and not say sh*t to me about it? You, and the rest of your family, knew what she was doing when I was locked up and now I'm out here looking like a whole a*s fool."
I shrugged my shoulders. "Well, it's not my fault you trusted a hoe. What did you think she was out here doing for the past five years? Sitting around waiting on you? I don't think so. I hate to be the bearer of bad news but you wifed a common whore."
"Why you so jealous?"
I frowned. "I'm not. I'm pissed."
"Why? 'Cause she was messing around with some niggas you know? Grow up. You said it yourself Cashmere treated you like shit so I don't even know why you pressed over a nigga like him anyways and Isaiah is a grown ass man. If he wants to mess around then he can. That shouldn't be up for you to decided. And I don't even know why you got something to say about Adonis' sex life anyways. Ain't that your cousin?"
I folded my arms. I don't want Adonis but I can see when someone is wrong for him and Jazmine was. She was using him like she used every other guy she was with. And regardless of Isaiah being a grown man or not, he's still my brother, just like Theodore, and I have the right to dictate who comes in and out of their lives since they're always making poor decisions. I just can't seem to fathom why Isaiah would put his lips on anything on Jazmine's body. She's dirty.
"Yup, it sure is."
"So, why you so concerned about his life then? I mean, you shoul--"
"Because I can say whatever I want about his life whenever I want to. I don't know why you so concerned about me anyways. Why are you even at my house?"
"Because I want you to stay the h*ll out of my relationship, on some real sh*t. I don't give a damn what Jazmine was doing when I was locked up and you shouldn't care either because it's none of your business. Let me handle my relationship and you just stick to taking care of your son, but stay out of my relationship, stop talking about Jaz, stop thinking about Jaz and just leave me and her alone."
I frowned. "How could you say this to me Aubrey? After everything I've done for you, you're going to turn your back on me for Jazmine?"
"You denied me for years Lindsey!" he exclaimed. "I begged and chased after you since I was in the seventh grade up until I just a few months ago. For over ten years, I gave you a chance to be with me and experience the Aubrey Lifestyle but you never gave me a chance. You were always turning me down so I had to move on. I wasn't gonna sit around and wait on you when you were dealing with other people, so I started dealing with other people too. It's not fair to make me wait. I wanted us to be together."
I sighed. "Did you really think something could've come from our relationship when you were so young? I could've gone to jail."
"Only if we got caught. I mean, I've always had girls and getting them was no issue. You know how I am, so I don't know why you wouldn't want to be able to experience all of me. And clearly, you wanted me just like the rest of the girls since you were always coming around me. I know I'm irresistible but it's just a few years too late Lindsey. I'm moved on."
I smirked as I took a step closer to him. "Oh, really?" I always thought Aubrey was cute but he was too young and he was my little brother's best friend. We couldn't do anything unless I was trying to catch a case and he was too immature. Aubrey didn't want me the way he talked about he did...but I see a difference in him now. I hate that he went to prison but it was good for him since he matured and became more serious. I like this new him.
He took a deep breath. "Y-Yes."
I smiled wide. I knew I had Aubrey right where I wanted him. He can talk all he wants about moving on and leaving me alone but he couldn't even if he tried. Aubrey wants me and there's no denying that. I stood on my tippy toes and wrapped my arms around Aubrey's neck. I knew being this close to me would get him all excited. It always gets Aubrey excited. "You know, I really miss you Aubrey. You don't hit me up anymore," I mumbled as I started kissing on his neck that was covered in tattoos. I could feel his breath becoming staggered the longer I kissed and sucked on his neck. "How come?"
Aubrey's hands slid up my body and he tried to push me off of him. "B-Because I have a girlfriend and I'm trying to be faithful."
"So?" I continued kissing on Aubrey's neck before I moved over to his face. Aubrey might have been telling me he had a girlfriend, but his body was telling me a whole other story. I could feel him getting hard beneath and he had his hands gripping my waist now. Every time I'd kiss his face, he'd start grinding my body up against his and it was turning me on. I looked up at him as I stopped kissing him. "You gonna kiss me?"
Aubrey didn't even hesitate before bending down to kiss my lips. I knew he wanted me. Aubrey didn't keep his hands on my waist, instead, they drifted down to my ass. He reached under me and picked me up so my legs were wrapped around his waist but he still continued to kiss me. This was the Aubrey I've been craving. After our date, I haven't been the same. I've been missing him and longing for him because he's one of the sweetest guys I've ever met and he's the only guy that's every cared about my well being.
Against my better judgement, I pulled away from Aubrey's lips but he still wanted more of me. He leaned back in to kiss me but I pulled my head away. "Wait. Do you love me Aubrey?"
"Mhmm."
"For real. Tell me you love me."
"I love you a lot Lindsey, you already know this," he mumbled as he began kissing my lips again. He pecked my lips and pulled away from me before putting me down on the ground. "But I just can't do this with you. You know I love you and I always will but I can't do this to Jazmine. She might have done her dirt in the past but it's not like we were even together when I was locked up, so she was free to do as she pleased. And I know you only pushing up on me now because you're jealous of the attention I'm showing Jazmine and I wish things didn't have to be this way with us. I wish you would've came to your senses months ago Lindsey because my life is different now."
I frowned. "How so?"
"I'm going to be a father soon and I plan on getting engaged to her tonight."
My eyes widened. "Aubrey, you can't be serious! What about how you feel for me? Doesn't that mean anything?"
"You know, you should really ask yourself that question. I gave myself to you, and now that you see me trying to do good, you wanna get back with me. Things don't always work in your favor Lindsey."
"But I want you Aubrey."
"I want you too but I want Jaz more. She don't deserve to get cheated on, especially when she's carrying my seed. In a perfect world, I'd have the both of you but I just can't."
I sighed. I wasn't going to beg him so I backed away. "Well, you can leave now."
"Damn, so you upset with me now, too?" he chuckled. "I just can't win for nothing, even when I'm trying to do the right thing. It's whatever. I had to move on and I hope you can do the same thing. Bye Lindsey."
"Good bye."
I slammed my door close as soon as he walked out of my house before I ran upstairs to my room. That's all right. I care about Aubrey and I don't want to see him hurt by Jazmine. I know how evil and vindictive she can be, so I'm not letting her hoish ways to just be swept under the rung. So, as soon as I got upstairs, I sent a text to Adonis about what just happened between Aubrey and I because I know he won't have any issue running back to tell Jazmine what just went down.

Mama wanted me to stay locked up in this basement to heal, so I'll do that, but I still need to be handling business while I'm down here. I just can't be unproductive.
"So, who we got now?" Isaiah asked me.
"I already took care of Tee Tee, Aubrey and Jaz got Nicole and Nicole got Cashmere."
He nodded his head as he wrote down their names. "So, now all we got to do is take care of Banga."
"And Jayvion."
He chuckled. "Oh, nobody told you? He's already at the warehouse. He's been there for days because we had to get him before he left the state. I don't know why nobody ever told you but he's locked up and waiting on you at the warehouse. I mean, I could've handled it by myself but I figured I'd let you take care of that little issue since we got an even bigger issue on our hands now."
"Somebody needs to just go on and off him. I don't feel like dealing with him."
"Cool, I'll get Adonis on it. So this bigger iss--"
"I don't want to talk about it," I mumbled. I knew he was talking about retaliating against Mya's family but they already got enough on us as it is. I wish I didn't listen to Grandpa and show Mya where the stash is, but now we have to move that. I know her family will retaliate but I'm not trying to add fuel to the fire. I'm trying to lay low, even though it's going to be difficult since Mya knows everything about my life.
"Well, you're gonna have to push your feelings aside and talk about it. Something has to be done about those people and you know it. You showed Mya where we keep our money and weight! You don't think they're going to retaliate?"
"Of course they are, that's why somebody needs to move it. Move everything out of the warehouse and relocate so they won't be able to get any ideas, and in the even that they do, they'll be breaking into an abandoned warehouse. I want everything moved out of there today."
Isaiah nodded his head. "I completely agree with you on that one but something still needs to be done about those people. I told you I wasn't feeling the way they were moving when I first met them. You need to stop thinking about Goldie, who's a stripper and played you for months, and start thinking about your daughter and the rest of this family. Those people need to go, starting with her brother."
I frowned. Mya was dropped into a situation she has no control over, so I can't blame her nor can I retaliate against her. "What about the sisters you were sleeping with? You want me to off them too?"
"Hell yeah! I can find two girls anywhere and they weren't that good no ways. You see, you need to get like me and stop thinking with your dick. You need to think with your brain."
"I am and that's why I know it's a bad decision to retaliate. It's going to cause a whole war that none of us are ready for. Just leave it alone, and if they decide they want to start with us, then we'll retaliate but we're going to lay low for awhile."
Isaiah sighed. "A'ight, whatever you say but how long you gon' stay locked up down here? We need you in these streets man."
"Ion know how long Mama's gonna force me to stay down here but three days is enough. I'm tired of this. I need some fresh air."
"You need to be managing your clubs."
"I thought you were doing that."
"I am but it's hard. I mean, have you seen the girls you got working for you? I know you try not to mess with your girls but I don't know how you do it. I would've wifed up more than just Goldie. Have you seen Jazmine lately?"
I swallowed down the throw up that was starting to form in the back of my throat. "Jazmine Hart?" I asked, confused. After finding out from Princess that she's pregnant, I didn't think she'd still be working at the club. Shit. After being with Aubrey all of these months, I didn't think he'd allow her to work at the club anymore either. "She don't look that good," I told him, even though I knew she did look good. If she wasn't with the homie, I would've been on her years ago.
"Man, quit lying. She look good as hell and she taste good too."
My eyes widened. "What?"
He laughed. "Oh, I must have forgot to tell you. When she was staying with us, me and her got kinda close one afternoon. You know, I put a little of the Reed charm on her and she was hooked. Too bad she ain't hit me up 'cause she's missing out. Now I see why Adonis been stuck on her all this time."
See, I would've laughed if it was any regular girl but Jazmine was my best friend and she's put herself in this position to be talked about as if she has nothing else to offer than what's in between her legs. Jazmine is so much more than what she's leading people to believe and I don't like her messing around with my family members. Adonis was enough since I set them up but Isaiah is just too much.
"Man, that ain't even funny. That's not Jaz at all."
He shrugged his shoulders. "I'm not tryna be funny. I'm just telling you the truth. Ya' girl is out of control."
"Well, my girl is pregnant," I mocked him, making his eyes widen.
"By you!? I thought you said you weren't hitting that."
"I'm not but Aubrey is."
"Damn. How you know?"
"Just know I got my sources," I replied, even though Princess was my only source. I know I really shouldn't believe a five year old but why would Princess even need to lie? "Get this, she's having triplets."
Isaiah's eyes widened. "Get outta here nigga! Her pussy gon' be all stretched out. Who told you?"
"Princess."
Isaiah smacked his lips. "Man. I thought you was gon' have a more reliable source, not a five year old. Jazmine can't be having triplets. That's three kids, nigga! Three!"
"I know what triplets are and my baby girl isn't a liar so I believe her."
"Alright, whatever you say but I don't think Aubrey put three babies in her," he replied. "That's a whole lotta kids and you bet not think about watching them."
"How come?" I frowned. "Don't tell me you hate Aubrey and Jazmine too."
"Nah, I f*ck with them. You gon' have the babies acting like you."
"And what's so bad about me?"
"A lot," he laughed. "Look where you laying my nigga. You need to get'cho life together."
"Once I get off of this couch, I'll get it together but I think I'll be a positive role model for their kids. I mean, they gotta have somebody to look up to."
"Princess?"
"Nah," I smacked my lips. "She done turned to the dark side."
"How so?" he laughed.
"Talking about boys and what not."
Isaiah frowned. "Boys? She don't need to be concerned with them."
"I know but let her tell it, she has a crush on a man because she likes his deep voice and beard."
Isaiah smirked. "She talking about Aubrey?" he asked, laughing. "Man, you don't have anything to be worried about. It's not like she got a boyfriend or anything. It's just Aubrey, if anything, you should be glad it's him and not none of these other lames."
"The only man my daughter should like is me."
"Yeah, alright, if you like that incest kinda shit. She just likes what she sees but she's not gonna act on it. She's still a baby."
"I know," I mumbled. I just don't like the fact that Princess is growing up. This crush on Aubrey might be harmless but next thing you know, she'll be having real crushes, going on dates and I'll have to check these young niggas about how to treat my baby girl. I just don't want to see her grow up.
"But on the other hand, what's going on with you and wifey now that Mya is out of the picture?"
"I don't know and I think my parents got something to do with her disappearing. I haven't heard from her in months, and last I heard, she was pregnant a--"
"By who!?" he exclaimed, making me suck my teeth.
Black people always yelling about something. "Our Dad, I guess. I know it wasn't me because I always used rubbers with her. But she gave me her ultrasound. She sent it in the mail and a note talking about how she's pregnant with his child and doesn't know what she's going to do with herself. She wants to keep the child but she knows how our Pops is. She doesn't want his opinion to get in the way of her keeping her baby. She was talking about getting a divorce but I don't even know if she followed through with it. I know she screwed me over in the past but I really feel for Milan, especially knowing Mama knocked her down the steps."
Isaiah's eyes widened. "For real?"
"Yeah, and she told me like it was something good. Like it was something she was proud of but it pissed me off. Milan don't deserve that, especially since I know our Dad was somewhere in the background cheering Mama on like he normally does. Milan doesn't stand a chance against the two of them."
"And neither does that baby. Damn. I hope they didn't kill the baby."
"Knowing them, they'd probably do it on purpose," I sighed. "But other than that, I can't get in contact with her and it's because our parents are talking about sending her somewhere far away and she won't ever be back again. I hope she ain't left you."
"Well, if she loves you the way she claims she does then she won't leave without saying goodbye to you. And I doubt she'll just leave anyways."
"But what if they do some crazy shit like paying her off?"
"I mean, possibly but she could just as well take the money and stay here. You know, that'll really piss of your parents but I doubt Milan is set up like that. That's something I'd do though," he laughed. "I'd get revenge on them because you know they probably torturing her somewhere."
"I know and that's why I need your help."
Isaiah sighed. "No way! I'm not getting involved."
"Please? I wouldn't even be asking this if I couldn't do it myself. I need you to find her for me, like on some real sh*t. I'm worried about her."
"And how is that my problem? I know you feeling her but I don't wanna get involved."
"Why can't you just do this for me? I've done a lot for you."
"Nah, you got the roles reversed homie. I've done a lot for you but I'll see what I can do. You know she ain't nowhere but your Dad's house, so I'll see if I can take a trip over there."
"My Moms is over there so you know you gotta guilt trip her about being the half brother and what not," I told him, making him laugh.
"Of course, how else would I weasel my way into their house? But in the mean time, I'll see about Milan and Banga and I'll make sure Jayvion gets handled and I'll make sure we're out of the warehouse tonight. You owe me."
I scrunched up my face. "For making you do your job? No thanks. I'll see you later Isaiah."
"A'ight."
Isaiah gave me some dap before he walked out of my office, leaving me alone again. I guess I'll have to add Isaiah to the list of people that know about me being awake. Business never sleeps so I can't either. I know Isaiah told me what he'd handle while I'm down here, I just hope he doesn't do any crazy shit and starts fucking with Mya's family. I can't add an enemy to the long list I already have, especially not somebody I care about.
Mya
Once Lucile cleaned me up to the best of her ability and made me presentable for dinner tonight, I found myself locked in the basement, yet again, with Marquis since we were going over the plan for tonight. Nothing can go wrong, because if it does, we're gonna be fucked and Matthew won't think about torturing us. He'll kill us himself, and I'm sure our Mom wont have anything to say about it either since she's so head over heels for my Dad. She'll help him kill whoever gets in his way, even if it is his kids. That's why I'm not thinking twice about taking her life tonight. She deserves it for letting me suffer downstairs for five long days.
"So, who we getting?" Marquis whispered to me.
"Matthew, Imani and Mama."
"I can't kill Mama. I love her."
I shrugged my shoulders. "So? I used to too but she doesn't love us as much as we love her. She loves Matthew more and will do for him before any of her kids, so she needs to go too. You know we can't leave anybody from Matthew's group around because they're all corrupted. We can't leave them, not even Mariah."
Marquis chuckled. "Damn. So Mama's Mariah now? But I get what you tryna say though. I'll go along with it. So, we gotta get Mama, Matthew and Imani."
"You forgot somebody."
"Who, me?"
The sound of his voice sent shivers down my back because at one point in time, I used to be afraid of him, but now that all the power is in my hands and he's as powerless as I used to be, I'm not afraid of him or the sound of his voice. I turned to Banga, who was still chained to the wall upside down. I figured by now the blood would've rushed to his head and he would've been dead but I wasn't fortunate enough for that though.
"Yes, you nigga," I snapped. I turned back to Marquis with my arms folded. "Where's your gun?"
Marquis' eyes widened. "I'm not gon' let you use my gun when you don't even know how to use one."
"Well, show me so I can get rid of him. I'm sick of hearing his voice. I wanna put him out of his misery."
"Dad's gonna know we're up to something because he might hear the sound of the gun."
"The room is sound proof. Put a silencer on it. Do something but I'm sick of him."
I didn't bother listening to Marquis talk me down about killing Banga, so I walked over to him so I could do it myself. I wanted him dead and I didn't care if he suffered either. I just wanted him dead and to be out of my life because Banga has put me through so much shit the past few months. I just want him out of my life for good and I want to kill him so I know it's real.
I walked over to Banga and kicked him as hard as I could in his face, making a few of his teeth fly across the basement floor. I continuously kicked him in the head, just taking my anger out on him since he put me through hell when we were together. his blood was flying everywhere, as well as his teeth, but I didn't care. I just kept kicking and kicking and kicking until Marquis grabbed a hold of me and pulled me back.
"Damn Goldie. He's almost fuckin' dead."
I shrugged my shoulders. "So? You're saying it like you want him to be alive or something."
"I don't. I just didn't think you had it in you."
I rolled my eyes. "Whatever. Either you're gonna finish him or you can move over so I can do it."
"Just take a step back and watch a grown man handle this."
"Yeah, well hurry it up so we can have dinner since a grown woman had to show you what to do to take out your family."
I took a step back like he said and listened as he mumbled some bullshit under his breath. I didn't care though. Since he wants to be a 'man' for the first time in his life and stand up for me, then he can. I won't fight him. I stepped back and watched as Marquis pulled a water bottle filled with something else from under his shirt.
"Ion know why you put so much into beating his ass. He can just take this shit we giving your fam," he said as he opened up Banga's unconscious mouth and poured a little bit down his throat. "This nigga ain't gon' wake up after this, but just to solidify shit, we gotta do something else."
"What?"
"You can watch and I'll execute it." Marquis twisted the cap back on the bottle before setting it to the side. "I know you think your Dad is a bad person, but he did actually teach me a few things about protecting myself. Since you never wanted to learn from him, I'm gonna teach you. If you gotta nigga unconscious and want him dead, snack his mother fuckin' neck." He placed both of his hands on the side of Banga's head before quickly turning his head to the side, snapping his neck in half. Banga's twist head hung to the side while his neck was left bent. "And that's how you make sure a nigga is dead," Marquis said as he stood up. "Now. Are you ready to go to our last dinner as a family?"
"Yes." I knew Marquis and I needed to hurry up if we wanted to poison their drinks, so we hurried up the steps and into the dinning room. The butler had everything laid out on the table already, including the drinks.
"I'll pour it in the drinks. You keep a look out for somebody."
"No," I frowned. I don't really trust Marquis either, so I knew that was a bad idea. I didn't need him trying to sneak me and poison me so he can take over the family business all alone. "No. I'll pour it in the drinks. You be on the look out."
"A'ight. Don't fuck around and poison me little girl."
"Don't hold your breath."
I snatched the bottle of potassium chloride out of his hands and poured a little into Mama, Matthew and Imani's cups. Part me thought about poisoning Marquis for all the shit he's done for me but I knew I couldn't run the risk of trying to run this business without him. So I didn't poison him. Instead, I lifted the lids on their trays of food and poured a little of the potassium chloride on to their food. I need them to be dead tonight, so I poured potassium chloride in all of the glasses sitting around the table since I know Matthew likes to switch the drinks around since he thinks somebody is going to poison him. To top it off, I took the cap off of the bottle of wine sitting on the table and poured some of the potassium chloride inside.
"Oh shit! Here comes Lucile. Hurry up."
I tightly closed the bottle and hurried out of the dining room right behind Marquis before we got caught by Lucile.

"Well, I'm so glad we were all able to come to our senses and sit around to have a nice family dinner, unlike those hood rats we came in contact with about a week ago, thanks to Goldie. But she's getting her shit together, finally," Matthew continued. I really wanted to jump across this table and just force his drink down his throat but I knew he'd be dead within the next hour, so I held back how I truly feel and just put a smile on my face. "And she's not messing around with that little boy anymore or his family. They're not good people Goldie, and it's about time you came back to your family."
"My baby wasn't gonna leave us," Mama cosigned him, like she usually does since she's always up his ass about something. "Goldie's smart."
"Yeah, right," Imani sarcastically replied as she picked up her glass.
She was just about to take a sip when I realized something. If Mama and Matthew saw her having a bad reaction to her drink, then they won't drink theirs, so I had to do something to stop it. "Wait! Before you drink, can we make a toast?" I asked.
Mama smiled as she picked up her glass. "What are we toasting to sweetie?"
"My induction into the family business," I smiled as I grabbed a hold of my water bottle that I bought to dinner with me. Daddy likes to switch up the drinks sometimes, so I had to come prepared. "Marquis and I aren't trying to drink because we want to keep our minds clear since I have to take care of Prince and his family tonight, so can we toast to my induction?"
Out of the corner of my eye, I saw Marquis sliding Precious a bottle of water too. I didn't want to kill Precious, I care about her too much and as much as she and Marquis fight, I don't think he'd want to kill his twin.
I held my bottle of water up. "To the family business," I announced. My soon-to-be-dead family raised their glasses and we all downed whatever we were drinking. Marquis, Precious and I downed our newly opened bottles of water while Matthew, Mama and Imani downed the wine laced with potassium chloride. I smiled as I watched them finish every last drop of their drinks. "Now, can we get to eating?"
"Of c-course," Imani burped as she scrunched up my face. "How old is that wine?"
"Pretty damn old. You'll be okay," Mama replied as she sat back down in her seat.
"Ion even know why y'all kids even drinking me and my wife's wine. Y'all too young." I watched as Matthew snatched the bottle of wine off of the table before popping open the top and taking a long, deep swallow. "Can't none of y'all handle this," he said as he stood up and scooted around the table so he was standing behind Mama. "My baby can handle this. Can't you?"
Mama smiled. "Mhmm. I want some more." Instead of grabbing her glass, like a normal person would, she scooted her seat back and leaned her head back so my Dad could pour the wine down her throat. "Give me some Daddy."
"C'mon y'all, we at the table," Marquis groaned.
"Shut the fuck up boy."
Matthew poured the wine down Mama's throat and she just laid back swallowing it like a damn fish. I swear, I can't stand the two of them. They're so disgusting. I watched on as Mama continued taking the wine but my eyes widened a little when I saw her start coughing. Matthew quickly pulled the bottle away from her but Mama never moved. She just laid back, eyes and mouth wide open as foam started forming in her mouth. She was coughing but it sounded like her airways were clogged.
"What the fuck is in this shit?" Matthew mumbled as he dropped the bottle on the table.
He walked back over to Mama to help her but soon he started coughing just like her. He dropped down on his knees, doubling over as he coughed up the same white colored foam that Mama and Imani were coughing up. The three of them were wheezing for air, gasping for air but no air was coming through their air pipes and Precious, Marquis and I weren't helping them either. Soon, Daddy held that same hopeless, lifeless expression Mama held before he eventually collapsed on the floor. Mama laid back in her seat motionless and so did Imani.
My heart was racing as I looked on at their dead bodies. It was that easy?
"I-Is that it?" I whispered, still shocked. "Did we kill them?"
"No," I heard Matthew groan.
I could see him struggling under the table to pull his body up but he was just too weak to do it. He was almost dead just like his annoying wife and daughter. I opened my mouth to speak but the sound of Precious slamming the wine bottle in his head made me shut up and finally killed our Dad.
