Guys, don't forget to check out my new book called 'Heiress' which will be starting once I finish this book!!
Y'all...I went to Summer Jams over the weekend for my birthday (Which is tomorrow on the 27th!!!!) and why did Migos take THREE hours to come to the stage and still have an OK performance. lol I was so angry y'all. And then they had Remy Ma come out before them to try to get the crowd pumped up but nobody was feeling her lol All she did was talk about Nicki Minaj (subliminally, of course) and perform the only two songs she made that everybody knows (Lean Back and All the Way Up) lmao

I sat in the back of the restaurant and watched as he walked through the doors. He stood in the doorway, examining the restaurant before he made his way over to me. He took the seat across from me and I could tell he was angry, just by the way he was looking. Something must have happened to him today.
"What's wrong with you?" I asked, looking him up and down.
"It's all fuckin' gone."
"What?"
"The money and the products. I went back to the warehouse today and all the shit was gone. I figured Prince would've been a step ahead of me but it's like he's several steps ahead of us. I went back to our old warehouse and that bitch was gone."
I scrunched up my face. "What do you mean, gone? It can't just grow legs and walk away."
"Well, it did. It looked like it was a fire around there because everything was all burned up and gone. Same for the warehouse where I thought we were working out of right now. All the money and products was gone so I guess Prince has caught on to us."
"How? What the fuck were you doing for him to catch on to us? You were supposed to stay low key!" I yelled at Adonis.
Me and him have been working together for a few months now. I had my own reasons to be fucking with Prince and his family since his sister is so fucking out of control but Adonis wants to be on top. He wants the entire business to himself and he won't be able to get it with the Reed's in the way. So, the only way he can take over the business will be with Prince, Isaiah and Daniel dead. I don't know how he's going to do it but I told him he's doing too much.
He should be like me, slowly stealing money from them, not trying to take over their business because their shit runs deep. He won't be able to take it over without King becoming suspicious. Shit. I don't even think King will hand over the business to him as easily as he thinks he will. Adonis still has more maturing to do before he can run a business because he doesn't think before he does shit. He just does things off of impulse and that's gonna come to bite him in the ass one day.
"I was staying low key. I broke into Aubrey and Jazmine's house to get the lay out of the place but then she came back early."
I frowned. "Why? I thought they were at the country club!"
"I did too but clearly, some shit popped off and they came back early. She caught me in their crib before I could steal some shit and I had to make up a lie that I wanted her back. Then Aubrey and Prince came by and questioned me too. I had to keep the lie going that I'm madly in love with her and want her back. I don't really think Prince is on to me but Ion know why he'd move all the products and shit without telling me."
"Because he's on to you idiot," I rolled my eyes. I wouldn't have teamed up with the likes of Adonis but he's the only person who wants just as much power as me. And with the little amount of power he has, he can control some things in the Reed family and he can always persuade Prince. "You're gonna have to try to get back on Prince's side and have him trusting you again because he's not right now."
"It might be too late for that."
"How so?"
"Because he was acting like a little bitch and took that nigga Aubrey's side over mine so I basically said fuck him and for him to watch his back."
"You idiot!"
"I know, I know," he sighed. "I was just pissed off at the fact that he took that niggas' side over mine."
"And why wouldn't he? He's known him longer than he's known you and with the way you been acting lately, he probably doesn't even trust you. I mean, shit. I don't think I'd trust you either, especially after you set up his sister to get locked up."
Adonis chuckled. "Yeah, you right. I set it up but it's not like you and my baby mama didn't come up with the plan though. I know I been fucking up lately but we make a good team, whether you want to admit it or not. And now with Lindsey out of the way, the family, especially Prince, will be too distracted with her trial to even notice us plotting and scheming on them in the background."
I nodded my head, glad he's finally getting some sense for himself. "You're exactly right but I'm gonna need some more money too. Once things settle down with Prince, I'm gonna need you to start stealing some more money from him so we can really get things going. You gotta stay low key and possibly kiss his ass for the time being, but we need more money and you're gonna have to start with the getting back in good graces with him so he can show you where the money and products are. Alright?"
Adonis nodded his head. "Yeah I got it. You think you could get back in good graces with Lindsey?"
"Hell no, fuck that fat ass bitch. Me and her are never gonna be cool again because she was too hung up on Cashmere to realize that I was just tryna be a good friend to her and wake her up to the shit he was doing to her. She's a dumb ass and I can never be cool with anybody like her again. I mean, I don't even think I could try to fuck with Prince's head because Lindsey's probably put shit in his head about me. So, it's up to you. You're the only person who can do this."
"What if we got somebody else involved?"
I scrunched up my face. "Who? Because I don't think there's anybody else left that doesn't fuck with the Reed's. They killed everybody off that was in their way."
"Milan."
My eyes widened. "Really? Why her?" I asked. I've been keeping in contact with Milan, even after Lindsey and I fell out but I haven't heard from her in about a month or so.
"She's been fucking Prince for the past five years and he's been keeping it a secret from his family. I know, King knows, Isaiah knows and Victoria knows but nobody else knows. I'm sure she's got some hard feelings towards him and his parents, so I'm sure she'll be on our side and I'm thinking we can get some shit started by spreading their little secret to the family 'cause shit's been too quiet lately."
I smirked as I nodded my head. "Perfect. Start off by doing that and I'll try to get in contact with Milan to get her on our side. Cool?"
"Hell yeah. Look, I'm about to head out of here and go over Prince's house to try to apologize and shit. I'll text you about how it goes."
"Alright."
And with that, Adonis left out of the restaurant just as the waiter came up to me to take my order. Hopefully this little plan will work. I'm not looking to do anything crazy like Adonis, I'm just trying to extort money from them and ruin Lindsey's life since she thought it was all right to throw a glass bottle at my face. All the extra shit going on is Adonis' doings and I really think he's in over his head.
Theodore III
I sat in the front row of the court room holding Princess as we listened on at Lindsey's trial. Beside me sat Daniel, who I practically had to drag here this morning. I told him last night we were coming to Lindsey's trial and for him to have his clothes laid out, but when I woke up this morning, he was still laying in his bed sleeping and he didn't have his clothes laid out either because he claimed he didn't plan on going.
I know he's only putting on a tough act because he doesn't want to see Lindsey get locked up. I don't either but we have to be here to support Lindsey, regardless of how we might feel about her. He didn't do anything wrong; Lindsey fucked up, per usual, so he should be here to show his mother a little bit of support because it might be a long time before he can see her again. And when he is able to see her during scheduled visits at the prison, he won't be able to touch her and their time together will be timed. He needs to utilize the last few minutes he has with his mother instead of laying in bed sleeping.
But, on the other side of me sat Mama and my Dad. I don't know what the hell the two of them have been through the past few days but I haven't heard from them in awhile. And based on this good reputation my Dad's been trying to keep up, I figured him and my Mama would've come to court looking better than they do right now. It looked like the two of them hadn't slept in weeks and they were all cut up like they had been fighting.
More than likely, they're so stressed because they were probably looking for Milan but they aren't going to find her. Milan's been hiding in the hotel I set her up in for the past few days. I told her to stay in the hotel and not come out for a few days in case my parents came looking for her, even though I'm sure they won't look at the hotel I took her. It's the old hotel we used to hook up at, and as far as I know, they don't know where that's at. So, Milan is safe as long as she listens to me and follows my orders.
Isaiah sat on the other side of Daniel and I knew he was pissed off too. None of us wanted to be here watching our sister go to prison but we had to do it to support Lindsey. Aside of Isaiah, sat King. He looked like he was pissed off having to take time out of his day to come here and I don't blame him. Nor do I blame him for sleeping in here either.
"Before the jury gives their deliberation, is there anything you have to say for yourself Miss. Reed?"
"No," Lindsey frowned, making me sigh.
I know Lindsey is pissed off about having to come to court but this is all her fault for even going to Adonis' house that day and for engaging his hood rat ass baby mama. Lindsey knows how LaKeisha is, so I don't even know why she'd fall for the trap. Now, if she had just kept her mouth closed and her hands o herself while she was in jail, then she really wouldn't be sitting here in court with these extra charges. But Lindsey just doesn't know when to stop acting a fool all the time. She probably wouldn't even be facing any charges but she just had to hit the officer.
"An apology? Anything to Officer Lewis, whom you struck?" the judge asked Lindsey, who was bent on being defiant today but today's not the day to be defiant. Lindsey really should be kissing the judges' ass so she can get a lighter sentence.
"Nope, nothing," Lindsey sighed. "Can we speed up the verdict?"
The judge sighed. "You know, Miss. Reed, since you won't say anything about your actions then I will. After reviewing this case, you really should be apologizing to Officer Lewis, everyone in this court for coming in here with a nasty attitude but most importantly, you need to apologize to your son because he's the one that's most effected by this and it doesn't even look like you care about him and his well being."
"You don't even know me," Lindsey spat.
"Yes, you're right Miss. Reed. I don't know you but I've seen plenty of women like you come in and out of my court plenty of times. You're not unique or special. You're just like the rest of these women. I'm not going to harp on the situation because it's clear you don't care about about anyone but yourself but you need to take your son into consideration. He's not that young to be able to forget everything that's gone on and hopefully your time in prison will do you some justice. When the bailiff takes you to the back, I'm ordering a psych exam because I don't think you're right in the head."
"Yeah, whatever," Lindsey rolled her eyes. "You don't know me to judge me and I don't need a psych exam because I'm not crazy. All of y'all are crazy for even thinking I need some fucking help! I'm fine. I'm just tired of y'all bastards constantly accusing me of shit I haven't done."
"Ma'am, you're going to respect me and my court. I've respected you but you're damn sure going to show me some respect. Since you don't care what I'm talking to you about, I'm just going to go on and tell you the verdict. The jury has found you, Lindsey Sincere Reed, guilty of assault with intent to murder, which is a charge of up to 10 years in a state prison," the judge said and Mama immediately started crying. "The jury has also found you guilty of aggravated assault against an officer of the court, which in the state of Georgia, is a minimum of 3 to 15 years. I'm ordering you to serve your full sentence of 15 years for both crimes at the Georgia Correctional Facility without parole," the judge ordered, making Mama gasp.
Hell, it made all of us gasp because I wasn't expecting Lindsey to get that much time in prison just for fighting some broad and hitting a cop. I figured she'd possibly get like five years but not fifteen years for what she's done. "Damn," I mumbled, sighing. I looked over at Daniel who had his head down and wiping tears off of his face. I know he won't admit it but I know he's sad about Lindsey's getting locked up. I sighed and threw my arm over his shoulder.
"Fucking 15 years!?" Lindsey yelled, standing up in her seat and the bailiff immediately rushed over to her.
"Ma'am, I'm going to need you to sit down or I'll have to handcuff you and take you out of here. Please sit down."
"Lindsey, please," Mama begged her. "Just sit down."
Lindsey banged her fist on the table she was sitting at. "I'm not a murderer! I wasn't trying to kill that girl! I was just trying to defend myself. You gotta give me less time or something, damn! I didn't fucking do what you're trying to accuse me of!"
The judge banged her gavel on the stand. "Bailiff, take her out of my court room immediately!"
"C'mon, damn! I didn't do shit!" Lindsey yelled as the bailiff turned her around and threw her up against the table so he could arrest her. "Wait! I need to see my son!"
"No you don't," the bailiff told her.
"You lost that privilege Miss. Reed when you became in contempt of this court room. You can see your son when you're in prison during one of your visits, but for now, bailiff drag her out of my court room and if you even think about assaulting another one of my officers, I will be adding more charges to the extensive charges you already have."
He grabbed her by her shoulders and dragged Lindsey out of the court room but Lindsey put up a fight. She cursed and screamed and tried to break free of the handcuffs but she couldn't and the officer wasn't going to let her go any time soon. More officers came from out of the back and dragged Lindsey out of the court as the judge dismissed the case, releasing us from sitting here any longer.
"What a damn fool," King said as he woke up from the nap he had taken. "I don't even know why y'all niggas even showed up here thinking anything good was about to happen. I knew her crazy ass was getting locked up. And Victoria, you need to stop all that damn crying. She needs this."
I looked over at Mama, who was bawling her eyes out. Part of me agrees with King, just not his method of explaining his feelings. We all knew she was getting locked up but I can explain why Mama is crying. I wouldn't want to see my daughter having to serve 15 years behind bars for something that could've easily been avoided.
Mama sniffed as she wiped away her tears. "I didn't think she'd get so much time Daddy."
"Why? Lindsey's crazy as fuck!" King exclaimed.
"Damn Grandpa," Isaiah laughed. "At least have a little respect for Daniel. He just had to see his Mama get locked up, give him a break before you start insulting your own Granddaughter."
"Okay and that's good for him. Lindsey's getting what she deserves. All of y'all niggas need to stop making so many excuses for her. That's the reason she just got locked up right now. Daniel, take it from me, your Mama's gonna be fine in there as long as she doesn't go running her mouth to the wrong people."
I scoffed. "But you know that's exactly what she's gonna go in there doing."
"Well she's a dead man walking then," Grandpa shrugged his shoulders as he pulled his keys out of his pocket. "Look, I'm about to head out of here to handle some business and if y'all had any sense, y'all would leave too. Lindsey's not getting out any time soon and it's about time y'all niggas realized that. Move on with your lives because now y'all got one less person to worry about."
And with that being said, Grandpa walked out of the court room.
"I can't believe he just said that," Mama cried as Pops consoled her.
"You know he's a bitter old man. Ever since your Mom died, he's been acting like he can do and say what he wants," my Dad added his two cents, per usual. I think that's where Lindsey gets it from. Him and my Mama don't know when to shut their mouths either and Lindsey got it really bad since she got it from the both of them. "Somebody needs to check his old ass."
"I'm going to say something to him," Mama replied.
"Matter of fact, don't. He'll be dead soon anyways," Pops shook his head, making me scrunch up my face.
"I mean, he ain't lying though," Isaiah spoke up. "And y'all acting like we can't hear the two of y'all over their talking all that shit. Even if he is getting old and possibly losing his mind, he's telling the truth. We've made excuses for Lindsey for years and she's finally facing some consequences, which she deserves. Prison will do her right and she'll learn the rules of prison very quickly."
"And instead of being worried about a grown ass woman, y'all need to be worried about her young ass son," I told them.
"Oh, shut up boy," my Dad sighed. "I'm really getting sick of the two of y'all always having something to say; always going against the grain. Why can't you just agree with us?"
"Because you're wrong," Isaiah and I both replied at the same time.
"Theodore Reed is never wrong," my Dad said, trying to sound smart but he really sounded stupid as hell.
"You're right, I'm never wrong nigga," I said as I stood up. I wasn't going to sit around here all day going back and forth with my parents because it wasn't going to get me anywhere. My Dad's an old jackass that's stuck in his ways and my Mom's finally starting to turn back into her old self. Five years. For five years she was able to keep her temper and issues under control but the moment she got back involved with my Dad, she started losing her mind again. The two of them deserve each other. "C'mon y'all, let's go."
I held a sleeping Princess up on my hip and was on my way out of the court room but my Dad stopped me. He stood in front of me with a frown on his face.
"I'm getting sick and tired of you disrespecting me boy. I've put up with it for years and haven't said shit about it because your mother never wanted me to check your bad ass, but now I'm going to. Don't you dare call me out of my name ever again in your life. You better start showing me some damn respect too because you're not too old to get'cho ass beat. Do you understand me?"
A small smile crept on up my face the more I listened to him ramble. "See old man, the thing you need to understand is that I can't give respect when respect isn't given to me. I respected you for the time being when I was in your house and using your resources growing up but now I'm an adult and I'm on the same level as you. Don't expect shit from me unless you can show me some respect as your son. Watch out." I pushed past him and walked out of the court room with Daniel and Isaiah walking right beside me. That old bastard's got a lot of nerve trying to get up in my face like he's running shit. The only reason he had the balls to do something today was because of my Mama being around. Any other time, he won't get up in my face and talk shit. He's just trying to show out for my Mama, but I guess that back fired on his stupid ass.
After Lindsey's trial, Princess and I were across town at her doctor's appointment. She had to have one of her usual check ups on her health to make sure her kidney's are still working right. I hate going to these appointments because I never know what to expect when we go. The last time, her vision was bad and she had to wear glasses. I don't know what they're going to tell me today.
"You think they're gonna give me a shot?" Princess asked the nurse as she checked her blood pressure.
The nurse laughed. "Well, I'm not sure Princess, but I'm not sure. Are you scared?"
"No," I answered for her, making Princess nod her head.
"Yeah, I'm not scared. I'm not scared of shots."
"Good," the nurse smiled as she stuck a thermometer in Princess' mouth. "You know, you ask me every time if you're gonna get a shot."
"And she always gets one. I just wanna take her home one day without band aids all over her body and not carrying a pocket full of suckers," I told the nurse.
"I honestly don't know if she's going to get any Theodore but you know she's at that age where she's gonna need to get shots a lot but I know Princess can handle it though, right?"
"Of course," Princess smiled.
The nurse removed the thermometer from Princess' mouth. "Her blood pressure is good but her heart beat is a little slow and her temperature is high. Her temperature is well over a hundred. Are you feeling all right Princess?"
Princess nodded her head. "Yes."
The nurse then moved on to check her vision. "And how are you seeing? Better than last time?"
"Yeah. I can see a lot better."
"Good," the nurse smiled as she wrote something down on her clipboard before turning to me. "The doctor will be in with you all shortly but you know if Princess ever needs anything, then you can just give us a call. And if you ever need any advice or have any questions about anything going on with her health, then you can call up here and I'll gladly answer all of your questions Theodore."
"I know. Thank you."
"Oh and Princess can get changed into her gown and the doctor will be in shortly."
Once the nurse walked out, I stood up from my seat and walked over to Princess, who was sitting on the examination table. "You feeling all right baby girl?" I asked as I helped her get undressed.
She nodded her head. "Yeah. Maybe it was the cookies I ate."
I smiled. "How many did you eat today? 'Cause you know you're not supposed to be eating them."
"Six."
"Princess," I laughed. "You not supposed to be doing that baby girl. You gotta ask me first, a'ight?"
"Okay," she mumbled as she put her arms through the gown and turned around so I could tie it up in the back for her. "Am I gonna get in trouble with my doctor for not eating healthy? Do you think he'll be mad?"
I shrugged my shoulders. "I don't know and if he is mad, fuck him. And you can't get in trouble with nobody but me, so remember that. And don't be sneaking cookies no more either," I told her as soon as I heard a knock on the door. "Come in!"
The doctor walked into the examination room with a smile on his face and suckers sticking out of his pocket and I knew that's what Princess was eyeing. "Oh, it's so good to see you two again. How are you doing Mr. Reed?"
"I'm good."
"And how are you Princess?"
"I'm good," she smiled. "Can I have a sucker?"
"After your appointment Princess," he said before he turned to me. "Is her mother going to be joining us?" I quickly shook my head. I don't know why he always asks me if she's coming to the appointments, when she hardly ever comes herself. But now she's definitely not going to come since she's dead and gone. Nicole's better off dead anyways. "Alright, well, let's check you out then Princess. Have you been feeling okay lately?"
I sat in the chair beside the examination bed and watched as the doctor gave Princess her usual check up and how Princess talked to the doctor about how she's been eating healthy, getting enough sleep at night and staying active during the day like she's supposed to. It was the same routine every time we came here, so the appointment didn't last too long. Once the doctor was through examining her, he gave her a sucker before calling me over to the corner of the room to talk to him.
"What's up?" I asked. "What's wrong this time?"
"It's her kidney's. Her blood levels from her last visit show that she still has advanced kidney damage with a decrease in her Glomerular Filtration Rate. She's basically been in Stage 2 of the disease for the majority of her life and she still is but if she survives any longer, she's going to need serious help for her kidney's. I'm talking about possibly enduring dialysis, which we usually don't recommend for children, or a transplant."
I sighed. "So, we're back on this now?" I whispered. "I know she's sick but the medicine she's taking is supposed to help her kidney's and decrease the risk of damage. What's this medicine doing if she's still sick and suffering?"
"It's keeping her disease from getting progressively worst. You might not see it just yet but since you two started seeing me, Princess' health has remained stable for years, which is a good thing. I'm just warning you for the future."
"How far into the future?"
The doctor shrugged his shoulders. "At this moment in time, I'm not sure, but hopefully it won't get to the next stage. If you continue with her diet and making sure she gets enough physical activities in her day, then she should be fine. But as she gets older and the disease gets worst, then she might have to consider other options."
"Well how about we just consider the other options now and just fixed the problem? Is she old enough to get a transplant yet? 'Cause I got two kidney's and I only need one to survive. If Princess needs it then I'll give it to her. I don't care, I just don't want her going through all of this and having to be sick at such a young age."
"I understand Theodore but she's still kind of young and I think a transplant will be jumping the gun. It'll be a major help but if her condition remains stable then she won't need a transplant and she'll be able to live longer."
"Well, how long are you thinking?" I asked.
When I first took Princess to the doctor when she was just a few years old, they told me she wouldn't live to see five. She's five now and living like a normal kid. She'll be six soon, so I'm hoping she can live longer than what they're expecting.
The doctor shrugged his shoulders. "I'm not sure but I don't think she'll die young, I'll tell you that. Based on how well her health has improved, she might live a long prosperous life. She might even surpass you Theodore but you never know. And as she gets older, she might need to take other options to perfect her health but she won't die young. Princess will be here for a very long time."
I took a sigh of relief. After all the shit I've been through lately, it's good to hear some good news about Princess. "Okay, well that's good to hear. So, what about her medicine? Will she be taking that for the rest of her life?"
"Yes but it's helping her kidney's filter toxins out of her body, so it's necessary and essential to her well being. I know it's a pain to have to do everyday but it's necessary and it's been keeping her alive. But I'm going to wish you two the best and make sure you keep this healthy lifestyle up with her as well. I can tell it's really been helping Princess a lot because she's improved tremendously."
"Thanks Doctor Smith."
"Alright, well I see you're scheduled here for some shots and some additional blood work Princess."
"Not again," she groaned, making the doctor laugh.
"How about you get a sucker and a sticker for each shot and for having to get blood drawn? How does that sound?"
Princess immediately perked up when she heard about all the candy she'd be getting. "Great!"
The doctor chuckled. "Alright, the nurse will be with you shortly to administer the shots. You two have a nice day."
As soon as the doctor left, Princess turned to me. "You guys were talking for forever. Were you guys talking about me?"
I smiled as I walked up to her and picked her up. "Of course, you were the main topic of conversation but it was nothing but good talks. The doctor said you're getting better and you're gonna grow old like me, so you're really healthy. I love you so much baby girl," I said as I looked her in her dark brown eyes. I can't imagine losing Princess. She's all I have so it was good to hear the doctor say she'd grow old and eventually out grown me. I've always wanted Princess to live a normal life, and if eating healthy and getting a shot every morning is as normal as normal will get for us, then it'll be our normal.
Milan
I sat on the bed in my hotel for the third day in a row and I felt like I was going crazy at this point. I understand Theodore wants me to stay low so I don't come in contact with his parents but there's only so much hiding in a hotel I can do before I lose my mind. Shit. I feel like I'm losing my mind right now. I can't use my phone because they'll be able to track it. I can't leave the hotel because they'll find me, so all I'm able to do is sit on this bed and watch TV all day.
I sighed as I looked down at my phone that had rang for the third time today. I've watched my family members call me nonstop and I couldn't answer the phone. I felt so mad ignoring their calls, especially my Mom's, since they're all probably worried about me since I haven't spoken to them in weeks. I just wish I could answer the phone.
"Danity?" I mumbled, grabbing my phone off of the night stand.
Ever since her and Lindsey fell out, it's like she disappeared. I used to hear from her occasionally but then it's like she just disappeared. I stopped getting calls and texts from her and my calls and texts to her were unresponsive. I just figured she was done with all of us after Lindsey smashed the bottle in her mouth for sleeping with Cashmere. I don't blame her though. I would've disappeared too if I ran out of the club with glass sticking out of my face.
Even though I'm supposed to be laying low, I still answered the phone for her. I mean, based on when I last saw her, it could be an emergency.
"Danity?" I asked once I answered the phone.
"Milan," she sighed. "As long as the phone rang, I thought you would've forgotten about me too. Well, I haven't heard from you in awhile."
"I know. I've been a little tied up recently. I haven't heard from you either. What's up? Are you good?"
"Mhmm."
"And your face? It's healed, right?"
"Mhmm, well, for the most part. It's some permanent scarring that won't ever go away but I guess it's what I get for dealing with a basic bitch like Lindsey, right?" she slightly chuckled but I didn't really think it was funny. If I found out she had been with my man and trying to sleep with him behind my back for years even though we're supposed to be friends, I would've picked up and thrown the closest object at her too. I don't blame Lindsey for what she did; I blame Danity for not being upfront from the beginning. "I hope you haven't switched up on me too."
At this moment in time, I didn't really know how to feel. Part of me felt bad for Danity and for what happened to her, but then the other part of me feels like she got what was coming to her. But then there's this small inkling of me that just wants to say fuck the Reeds and anyone associated with them. I knew I wanted to hurt Victoria and Teddy for what they've done to me but hurting them could mean hurting the rest of the family and jeopardizing my relationship with Theodore. And I need Theodore to be by my side 100%.
"No but you have been doing some questionable things lately. Lindsey's man, seriously? That's low."
"He was my man first."
I smacked my lips. "Girl, you know anything in high school didn't count and from what I heard, y'all just had sex and it wasn't a relationship."
"Really? Who told you that?"
"Cashmere said it."
"And you'd believe Cashmere over me? How long have we been friends Milan and how many times has Cashmere lied to all of us, especially Lindsey, to clear his name. He's just lying."
"Alright, so how long were y'all together then?"
"I don't know. It was so long ago," she mumbled. "Maybe for like a week or two."
I rolled my eyes. "Compared to them being together for like five years? That doesn't count Danity, and you know that. You should've been real with her from the jump."
"Probably but knowing her, she probably wouldn't have been my friend if I told her the truth. But it's whatever now. I don't need her anymore."
"So, y'all not getting cool again?"
"Hell no! What do I look like getting cool with her ass?"
"A person that was actually friends with her. Y'all should try to work out your differences."
"Nah, I'm good," she replied. "She needs to worry about being in prison, not me."
I scrunched up my face. "Prison? What happened?"
"I don't know, it's none of my business. You should ask your husband since you're so close to the family. I'm surprised you don't know about it because Teddy's been getting hammered in the media for it. Why don't you know Milan? Are you and Teddy still together or y'all finally broke up?"
I scrunched up my face. "Excuse me?"
Danity laughed. "What? You joked about y'all breaking up a whole bunch of times, so now it's an issue when I do it?"
"That's because I never joked about breaking up with him. Why would I joke about breaking up with my husband? That's not even funny."
"Oops, that must have been Lindsey then since she always talked about her parents getting back together and finally getting you out of the picture. You know, she really wasn't even trying to be your friend. Her Dad sent her to spy on you whenever we went out just in case you fucked up and did something that he didn't like. You might not believe me but you know how Lindsey is about her Dad. She'd rat her own son out if that meant making her Dad happy. She really wasn't your friend, nor was she mine. She was using me for information out on the streets and getting close to you so she could stab you in the back. She's a snake."
Hmm. Maybe Danity was right, but I always knew better than to tell Lindsey anything too personal about my relationship with her father. For one, that's just weird talking to my step daughter about my sexual relationship with her father and my sexual desires for her brother. I just didn't put that much into my relationship with Lindsey. She's a nice girl but me and her can't be best friends because I'm her step mother.
But I did tell her things about my relationship that she's never told before. After what I've told her about her father, she should've ran her mouth years ago but she didn't. I don't think she ever wanted to get involved with our relationship.
"If that's the case, how come she never told her father about what I was doing?"
"What were you doing?"
"Nothing," I mumbled. Danity is known to run her mouth and I know I can't tell her any of my business unless I wanted it all around the city. And to top off her big mouth, she's an instigator too. I know she only called to stir the pot about the Lindsey situation but she's the only one still thinking about it. "Look, if you only called to bitch about Lindsey, I don't want to hear it. It's more shit going on than y'all's beef that was in the past over a dead nigga."
"Ain't shit changed though Milan, that's the point you're missing. Lindsey ain't shit and neither is her family. You saw how they treated you like shit all of those years and you took it for some strange reason. Why do you keep taking their shit?"
"I"m dealing with them on my own."
"How? 'Cause ain't none of them niggas nice. Maybe Prince but he was probably just tryna fuck you like he fucked me."
My eyes widened. "What the fuck are you talking about?"
"Oh," she laughed. "I must have forgot to tell you. I was a little drunk one night so Prince took me home. You know how shit goes with him. He started talking to me, telling me the shit I wanted to hear, so I leaned over and started sucking his dick. You know, I heard it was big and didn't believe it but I should have. He acts like such an ass 'cause he know he got that good dick and girls will basically fall for him," she told me but I already knew his dick game was good. It's why I kept coming back to him. "So, we just fucked right there in the front seat of his car."
I sighed. "Does Lindsey know?"
"Nope but I'm thinking about telling her or maybe you should tell her since the two of y'all are best friends now. You can't keep secrets from your best friend."
"We aren't best friends but you and her were supposed to be and you kept this a secret from her."
"But don't act like you weren't doing the same thing."
I scrunched up my face. "What? What are you talking about? That's my step--"
"Yeah, yeah, I know," she cut me off. "He's your step son but that don't mean he wasn't breaking them walls down. Bitch, it was so obvious you and Prince were fucking each other, I'm surprised Lindsey wasn't aware of it. I bet you're still fucking that nigga right now. I bet you're probably sitting in some room all by yourself waiting on him to come fuck you but I bet he probably hasn't even touched you."
"That's not true."
"What's not true?"
"I'm not waiting on him to come back," I told her. "I don't need him!"
Danity laughed. "Clearly you do 'cause you still hung up on him but I don't blame him. He's pretty cute but he's just a little kid."
"That you fucked."
"And so did you. See, we're not so different Milan. I'm just open with who I'm fucking, you aren't."
"So why don't you tell Lindsey you were fucking her brother then?"
"Why don't you?" she answered back. "I don't give a fuck about Lindsey and her family. I'll go run my mouth to that bitch. Look, I'll keep it a hundred with you. I won't run my mouth to Lindsey about you but I'm gonna need you to do something for me in exchange for keeping my mouth closed."
I scrunched up my face. Who is she to be blackmailing me? I don't even know what's going to become of my relationship with Teddy or Theodore, but one thing I do know, is that I'm not hiding behind what their family might do to me. I don't need them nor am I afraid of what their family might do to me if I speak out against them.
"You can kiss my ass Danity. You're so damn pathetic and miserable. Nobody is even thinking about you or what happened to you because you're irrelevant and you can run your mouth all you want. I don't give a fuck."
"That's fine," she chuckled, "but you're gonna give a fuck when some niggas come into your hotel room and beat'cho naive ass. You need to realize I'm not the one to be fucked with. I'm on your side Milan, not them other niggas you fucking with. So fuck with me if you want to but I'm gonna be worst than the Reed's bitch."
And with that, Danity ended the call and I sat on the edge of my bed with a frown on my face. I knew I should have listened to Theodore before I even got too involved with their family. I knew their family would get me in trouble because as soon as I married into the family, trouble has constantly been following me. Fuck what Danity said though. I'm not linking up with her but I'm no longer going to have the Reed's backs either, especially not Theodore since he thought it was all right to fuck my friend behind my back and to wife a stripper bitch behind my back too.
I'm gonna fuck him up the next time I see him.
