"He passed away"

Is all I heard come out the doctors mouth. I watched as his mouth kept moving explaining how it went down but I couldn't pay attention. My mind wouldn't let me concentrate.

My heart was breaking as seconds went by.

"Lala" I heard someone call

I turned around seeing that it was Jamir

"Yeah?" My voice cracked as the word came out.

Instead of saying anything else he simply pulled me to him hugging me tight. Falling in his embrace I broke down. Every tear I was holding back came pouring out.

"Let it out G let it out" He said hugging me tighter running his hand through my hair

"Why Mir? Why him" I cried

"I don't know G. I wish I knew but I don't" He said as his voice cracked

"If you guys wish to say your goodbyes you're more than welcome to" The doctor said

I pulled away from Mir turning to look at my grandma

"Granny you guys go first" I told her

She turned to look at me before coming over to me. She pulled me into a hug kissing the top of my head

"I love you baby. I'm sorry" She said before pulling away

"I love you too granny and you didn't do anything" I told her

She smiled at me before walking away with my grandpa and brothers

"Why you ain't go back with them?" Mir asked

"Because I'm not ready. I don't think I can see him like that" I said as tears began to fall again.

"Honey if you don't go see him you're going to regret it later on" His mom said coming up to us.

"But how can I look at him and know that he's not coming home with me no more?" I asked

"The same way you would if he was going home with you" She smiled at me before walking away

"Aye Lala we're sorry Ku. We got you on whatever" Blast said giving me a hug

"Thank you Vontae" I hugged him

"Yeah we got you sis" Wooski said

They all gave me their condolences as my family came back out. My grandpa was carrying my grandma out.

"You going back there?" Montez asked me

I looked at Mir who nodded his head for me to go

"Yeah I won't be long though"I walked over to them

"We love you kid" He said giving me hug

"I love ya'll too" I hugged him back

I turned towards the double doors taking a deep breath before making my way. They opened the doors for me letting me in.

I felt someone grab my hand causing me to turn around seeing that it was Mir.

"Come on you got this"

I smiled a bit before continuing down the hall following behind the nurses.

"I'll give you some time" she said as we came to a stop in front of his room.

I walked in making my way over to his bed standing over him for a minute taking in his features as the tears fell from my eyes on to him.

"Why Trey? Why you leave me?" I asked him hoping to get a response

Looking at his lifeless body hurt me even more. Just seeing him knowing I won't ever hear his voice or see his smile broke me even more

"Trey please come back please" I cried hugging his body hoping he'll hug me back but nothing "You can't leave me" I screamed shaking his body "Come back Trey Please. I promise I'll listen to you and never talk back. I promise I'll be the perfect sister but don't leave me"

"Nahla calm down" Mir ran over to me pulling me off of him

"No he needs to come back Mir he can't leave me" I cried falling to the floor

"I know Lala i know. We all want him to come back. He was like a big brother to me. He taught me a lot. I loved him like my brother too Nahla but you can't go crazy.He wouldn't want you to"

"How am I going to live without a brother?" I asked him

"I don't know but Ima help you. I know it hurts losing him but you got two other brothers who don't want to see you crying and you know Trey hated seeing you cry. So please don't cry no more" He pleaded

"I just want my brother back"

"I know come on because the more you stay in here the more hurt you gonna feel" He pulled me up taking me out the room and down the hall way.

Walking into the waiting room I looked around seeing that everyone was gone besides Mrs.Coleman

"Where everyone at mom?"He asked as we made our way to her

"They all went home. I know you're not going to want to be alone so Mir can stay the night at your house or you can stay with us baby. You're grandmother already agreed" She told me sending a smile my way

By the redness in her eyes I know she was crying too

"We can stay at my house. I kind of just want to be at home"

"Okay I'll drop you guys off" She said gathering her things

We walked out the hospital making our way to her car.

Feeling the fresh air eased my nerves a bit. I took a couple deep breathes as I stared at the sky for a minute before getting in the car.

"You guys hungry?"

"I'm starving like Marvin" Mir said making us laugh a bit

"I'm fine thank you"

"You sure?" She looked back at me

"Yeah"

She nodded her head backing out then pulling off.

As the car moved I just stared out the window looking at how peaceful everything look tonight. Everyone was outside not caring that it was going on 3 in the morning.

After stopping at Mcdonalds to get Mir something Mrs.Coleman dropped us off in front of my building

"Thank you mama" I told her

"Anytime baby. Mir you can stay home tomorrow with her I'll call the school"

"Okay love you mom good night" He said closing the door

We made our way to the door walking in. We walked down the hallway reaching my apartment. I unlocked the door walking in

"You finally home kid"Montez said looking in our direction

He was on the couch watching tv.

"Where's Dre and granny and papa?"

"Dre's in the room and grandpa and grandma are in their room sleep. We finally got her to calm down" He said turning the tv off

"Why aren't you sleep?" I asked him as I took my shoes off

"I wanted to wait for you and make sure you got in safely" He said walking over to us "Now that you here I can go to sleep. You got her?" He asked Mir

"Yeah I got her" He told him

"Okay good night. Try and get some sleep ight kids? Love ya'll"

"Love you too" We said as he disappeared down the hall

"You want to sleep in here or In your room?" Mir asked me

"In my room"

He simply nodded following behind me as I made my way to my room.

Walking in I went to the drawer pulling out Mir's clothes as well as mine so we could change before laying down.

"I'll change in the bathroom and you can change in here" He grabbed his things walking out

I walked over to the door closing and locking it before getting undressed.

I slid on some sweats and Trey's football hoodie from when he played in high school. I had stole it out his room one day and liked it so much that I told him it got stolen at school.

He got some mad at me that day he almost knocked my head off

After I was finished I unlocked the door taking a seat on my bed grabbing a picture of Trey off my night stand

"I still got your hoodie" I laughed a bit as tears fell all over again "It never got stolen I just never wanted to give it back"

"You okay?" Mir asked walking in

"Yeah just looking at the picture of Trey" I told him as I put the frame back on the nightstand

"I love you Nahla" He said as he took a seat next to me wiping my tears away

"I love you too Jamir"
