Star by Chrys_tinaa is still updating, but with 37 intriguing parts already available, it's bound to be a fantasy read that's hard to let go.
I try not to post about ongoing stories because we of the binge reading variety suffer in wait for every update.
Star is no exception. I am always checking my feed for the next chapter. I can't quite recall😅, but I may have messaged the author a time or two with question marks akin to tapping my nails on a desk. I'm waiting Chrys_tinaa BUT it's all in fun and appreciation. Chrys_tinaa, please take your time developing Star. We know it's best not to rush greatness.
And greatness it is. I knew from the first page that I would love this story because the author dropped us into an already moving plot without a Once Upon a Time. As a reader, I love being trusted to hop into the tale and catch up without a lot of backstory.
Story starts off with us meeting a girl crying in a fancy car with a guy old enough—and considerate enough—to be her dad. Except, she never really called him dad. We learn that the girl is anxious about going to a new school for the Supernatural.
BOOM!! POW!! ZAP!! I'm hooked.
I find myself sorting through the 1,000 piece puzzle that the author has dropped before me. I must follow the bread crumbs of detail, teasing me through each chapter. And just when I think I've figured it out, more puzzle pieces are added to the mix. An amazing concoction.
The best thing about Star is the plot. It is meticulously thought out, bending and weaving, twisting and turning, and still manages to startle the reader with new information as the chapters progress.
The second best thing about Star is the collection of complex characters. Every character has a rich backstory that fuels their behavior. We may not know the backstory, but as we're fed the details, the characters gain dimension and the stories link together beautifully.
And the last thing I like about the author, Chrys_tinaa, is her ability to create over-the-top characters. I've read another one of her works, Fallen, and in each of her stories, there's at least one outrageous character that I can't help but to love. Of course there's still that thin line between love and hate.
And speaking of love, I'm sure there's a love story brewing in Star, but we haven't reached that part of the moving picture yet. Hmmm. I'm curious as to how the love story will develop because—bleep.
No spoilers!! Read Star and join me in the comments section. I'm sure Chrys_tinaa would love to have you!!
