"We gotta pick Kaiden up from school today right?" I asked Kennedy as we got in my car.

"Yeah" She responded putting on her seatbelt.

"Nahh lemme take my seat belt off" Ken unbuckled her seatbelt.

"Real mufuckers fly through windshields"

"Nahh thats dumb mufuckers girl you betta put that seatbelt back on, im not about to get a ticket because of you" I said reaching over her to grab her seatbelt.

"Im juss playin girl its a tweet" She laughed buckling her seatbelt.

"Crazy tail self" I said shaking my head at the person I call my best friend.

I started the car and left our school parking lot.

Minutes later Ken came out the school with Kaiden on the side of her.

Ken opened the back door helping Kaiden in his booster seat.

"Heyy Ki Ki" He waved at me.

"Girl guess what" Ken straight faced me when she got in the car.

"Kaiden teacher said that he was flicking kids off all day today at school"

"But he dont even know the real finger" I looked at her confused.

We both looked back at him and that bad lil boy was flicking us off.

"Who taught you that?" I asked him.

"My friend" He said still with his middle finger up.

"Ok Kaiden we see" Ken said putting his finger down.

"Why would he teach you sum like det, how in the world does he even know " I gave him a serious look.

"Its a girl, her not no he" Kaiden mugged me.

"Ok she a girl now dont flick nobody else off at school" Ken told him and we both turned back around

"Thats a bad ass lil girl" I said so that only Ken could hear me.

She chuckled to my statement and I drove off.

"Lets stop and get Wendy's" Ken suggested.

"Ight, you hungry Kaiden?" I looked at him through my rearview mirror.

He nodded in response and I headed to Wendy's.

"A girl at school taught him that" Ken finally spoke.

"Kaiden who taught you that?" My momma asked Kaiden, not believing Kennedy.

"My friend at school" He smiled like that was some to be proud of.

"Kaiden thats not nice dont do it again" She looked at him.

"But ummm yall know yall got prom this Saturday, its not gonna be during school this year"

"Huh" Me and Ken said in unison.

"Yall aint check yall school emails?" She gave us an confused look.

"Ion check det mess" I said being so serious.

"Me either, but I knew prom was coming but I thought it was next week or sum"

"We dont even got a prom dress nor date" I shifted my weight to one leg.

"I guess we goin together" Ken shrugged.

"Right cse we dont f wit them kids at that school" I agreed.

"It dont have to be kids from your school this year" Momma explained.

"Bett" Ken sat down getting comfortable.

"Okayy that mean I can ask one of my side niggas" I smiled to myself.

"Girl shut up" My momma mugged me.

I laughed at her and went up stairs to my bedroom.

"Bestieee!!" I yelled loud enough so that she should hear me.

"Yesss?" She responded busing through the door.

"Ummm we gotta go to the mall today to get our dresses because we are not prepared at all" I said shaking my head to myself.

"Damn best you right..."

"Lets go then" she smiled widely and grabbed MY keys.

"I guess im driving huh..?" I side eyed her as we left my bedroom.

"Momma J me and Ki about to go to the mall to get us a bomb ahh-

"A what?" My momma enterruped her.

I juss sit back an observe..

"A bomb dress to wear to prom..can you watch Kaiden for me please?"

"Ofc when yall planing on coming back?"

"No later than 6:30" Ken told her and my momma juss nodded in response.

"Be safe" she said before we walked out the house.

She smirked and hooked her phone up to the aux.

"Thats what I said.." I said looking in the body mirror.

"It looks almost like mines but a different color...yelp get it" She passed me my purse.

"Yeen gotta tell me twice" I walked back into the dressing room to remove the dress.

"So you sure you want the red dress..be for we walk ova here to this register?" I asked Kennedy knowing she would change her mind.

"Positive"

"Ight" I said and we walked to the register.

"Have you guys find anything you like?" The lady behind the counter asked.

"Yes, how much are these?" I asked as me and Ken held up the dresses.

"Red dress is $303.58 and the blue one is $289.99" She responded kindly.

"Bout $600...ok we'll take it" I smiled

"Who is we my dress $300" Ken widened her eyes at me.

"What you thought it was gonna be?? $50 ?? Guhhh give that lady that card nd come on"

Ken an I purchased our dresses and walked out.

"Long time no see.." I heard a familiar voice.

"Oh my fuckin gosh..." I said lowly to myself.

"Dont act like you dont miss me" He walked up to me with a smirk.

"Man gone on bout yo business, should of stayed yo ass where you was" Ken said stepping in between us grabbing my arm.

"You gone get yours Kyhana I promise" He said before walking away.

"What the fuck ever" I said loud enough so that he heard me.

"Fuck wrong wit his ass he need to grow up and move on before he get fucked up for real" Ken said shaking her head.

We left the mall and headed back to my crib.

"Go to sleep" I threw a pillow at her.

She caught it and flicked me off.
